Out of the Mouths of Babes

Saw this on my friend Carrie's Tumblr and just had to share.  I love how innocent and "matter of fact" children can be.

Lookin' like a Fool

Young men, you are our country's future leaders.  Now that school's back in session, please pull your pants up.

Love,
Amelia

The Calm

Hello Sweet Friends- welcome to the weekend!  What are your plans?

We are keeping my little sisters this weekend--for the whole weekend.  I just keep thinking right now is "the calm before the storm".  We are going to a pool party, making cake balls, playing with the pups, going to Turbo Kick (and the kids' area at the gym), and going to the movies.  We might even have brunch on our patio since the girls will be waking us up extra early.

Here are some images to calm you into the weekend.....

Kitchen Makeover: Inspiration

Lately, the hub-ster and I have been talking more and more about our future kitchen.  While we have several ideas we like to toss around, we have made 1 executive decision.

We are going to knock out the window in the kitchen and install french doors.  You see, we have 2 hunting dogs and our back door swings open directly to the living room.  I have canvas colored furniture--and expensive furniture at that--and they love to run as fast as they can into the house and plow right into the cushy sofa.  SO.OVER.IT! Our solution is to add french doors in the kitchen so that we can "enclose" them in one space---one where they can't leave beautiful paw prints on expensive furniture.

Here's a picture of the window:

And here is the inspiration for them:

While I'm looking at it, maybe moving the dishwasher to wear the fridge is (like in the picture above) is a clever idea!  We need to find a new home for the fridge anyway because I don't like that it's right up against that wall.  I feel like I can never fully open the freezer door.

Actually, I love a lot of things about this kitchen!  I love the cabinent colors (darker for the bottom and white for the uppers).  I also want a center island, and I love the wood top of the the kitchen island pictured above.  I'd probably still go with the school house lights -- something like this --instead of what is pictured above.  I feel like those are too heavy.

Honey--can you hear me?

Vegas Party Gods - Sneak Peak

Just wanted to give you all a little tease of what went down at the Krablin Estate this past Saturday.  I'll be posting a play-by-play once I get all of my pictures uploaded.

Happy Birthday to my Baby!

Yesterday was a big day for our youngest dog, Georgia.  She turned 1!

Just a few days after my husband surprised me with her.

In honor of her birthday, both she and Sweden got raw-hide bones in the morning and then we took them swimming at my dad's house in the afternoon.  While she is bigger than Sweden now, in many ways, she's still a puppy.  We are teaching her to swim (she just uses her front legs and forgets to kick with her back legs), she still loves socks (the dirtier the better), and she still loves to snuggle.  Have you tried snuggling with a 50 pound German short-hair Pointer lately?  Challenging, but I wouldn't trade her for the world!

After a long afternoon of swimming, they were both exhausted!

Heat Wave

Here in Texas, we are in our 1-billionth day of 100 degree weather.  It's hot out here!

Here are some images of my pups playing in the mounds of snow we got during Super Bowl week.  Hopefully, it will cool you off just a little bit......

Georgia was looking for some water....
Don't you just want to stick your face in some snow right now?
