JIMMY JIMMY CHOO(se) Me

It’s been a while since I’ve done a shoe post…what’s wrong with me?  Welp, the wait is over, because this morning, I got a sweet little email from Saks Fifth Avenue telling me all about Jimmy’s Fall Collection.  (That’s right, I’m on a first name with Jimmy Choo…)
Anyway, here are a few of my favorites that I’m adding to my wish list.  Ohhh HONEY, hint hint, wink wink.
I promise they are worth it!  Every cent!  Really, they aren’t that expensive if you take into account the number of times I’ll wear them…..and plus, every woman deserves to have good shoes in her closet and on her feet!

PS- My first choice would be the Double-Band Patent Sandal (for work) and the Vamp Glitter-Coated Leather & Metallic Sandals (for my brother's wedding Black Tie events...).

Which pair is YOUR favorite?

Ole' Miss: Hotty Toddy

Well, it's official.  The Hubs and I are now Season ticket holders for Ole' Miss' 2012 Football Season!  Oh Oxford, how we've missed you and your southern charm!

We only plan on going to the Texas and Texas A&M games this year, so if you want to buy tickets for the other 5 games, let me know!

You know what this means now.  I need to go shopping for my Football game wardrobe!

A Work Of Art

While on our family vacation in Italy, I was busy doing major Window Shopping in Florence.  That place is a fashion mecca and I've always loved that the Italians are so fashion forward.  One night in particular, I walked past Miu Miu and was aw struck.  They had the most beautiful window display.  I turned to my father in law and said "You love spending hours in Museums broswing old pieces of art;  I don't need to go to museums for that.  The clothes displayed right here are what I call pieces of art."  He turned and said "You're right Amelia, these intricately made pieces are art--just a different type of art."  Then, he took my picture next to the display.

I wish I had that picture to share with you....F, if you're reading this (while you are hunting with your dudes right now) can you send me that picture?

It's not every day that I find pieces of clothese that I consider "Art" , but when I do, I simply must share my joy with you.  I get emails from Barneys New York (a girl can dream, can't she?) and this morning's email wowed me.

Look at this Givenchy Canvas Peplum Jacket

AMAZING!  This truly is a piece of art!  And, like any fine piece of art, you must pay up.  With a small price tag of $4,145, I will simply enjoy admiring it from afar.

Designers from Givenchy, if you'd like to let me, I'd proudly wear this jacket around Dallas for you.  Think of it as free advertising.......

Shopping for an Easter Outfit

It was always tradition growing up that every year, my mom would take my sister and me shopping to get a new outfit to wear to church on Easter Sunday.  It was probably one of my favorite weekends of the year..that and back-to-school shopping!  Well, even though my mom is no longer footing the bill for said shopping trip, I still make a point to get a new Easter outfit every year.  It's kind of like I'm saying to myself "Hello, Spring is here--time to add some color back into your wardrobe."

My Husband has yet to understand the need for this kind of shopping spree (you know, you get a new outfit, new shoes, new accessories to go with the outfit...) but I am slowly trying to convert him.  Each year, I try to get him to get at least a new shirt, but most of the time, he says he "doesn't need a new Easter outfit."  His. Loss.

So, I know Easter is still a month away, but with all the new Spring clothes making their way into stores, I can't help but want to start shopping for my Easter outfit!  I recently went into BCBG (Honey, it was an accident, I promise...I got lost and blacked out and next thing, I was at the mall....in the dressing room at BCBG)   and oh my, do they have an AMAZING Spring collection.  Like, I was beside myself...kid in a candy store style.

To be completely honest, most years, I end up getting my Easter outfit from BCBG because they always have the best Spring stuff!  It's weird because the rest of the year, I don't even step foot in the store.

So, I've put together a few potential Easter Outfits in hopes that you will give me some feedback because I simply can't decide which one to go with.....and there's only 1 Easter Sunday a year....so I only get to get 1 outfit.

1.  Emma Button-Down Silk Chiffon Blouse;
Scarlett Color Blocked Pencil Skirt
2. Liberty Mixed-Fabric Blouse; Toni Pleated Skirt
3. Liberty Mixed-Fabric Blouse; Edna Sequined Pleated Skirt

1. Abree Relaxed Jacket
2. Ozzy Layer Jacket
3. Fabian Faux-Suede Vest
1. Lucea Color-Blocked Dress
2. Colette Color-Blocked Dress
3. Jacqueline Mixed-Laced Sheath Dress
4. Aidas Silk Color-Blocked Shift Dress

1. Foster Wood Platform Pump
2. Harlow Matte Sequined Envelope Clutch
3. Two-Toned Scarf
4. Bangles
5. Destin Espadrille Wedge Sandal
6. Izzy Oversized Sunglasses
7. Lespring Shoulder Bag

So, which outfit should I go with? Dress or Shirt + Blouse?  Should I add a jacket?  I already know I'm in love with the Destin Espadrille Wedge Sandals.

Did you grow up with a cool tradition like getting a special outfit?  Do you still practice that tradition?  What's your Easter Outfit inspiration?  DO TELL!

      Mary Jane Love

Gosh, I think we all know that I'm a shoe addict!  I can't help it!  But, there's 1 style that I'm always drawn to- the Mary Jane.

I love the strap that goes around your ankle because it helps keep your shoes on.  As a girl that loves to wear panty-hose pretty much every day during the winter, I appreciate this because I HATE slipping out of my shoes!

I enjoy not having to worry about losing a shoe as I'm running down a flight of stairs (or running around period).  Cinderella could have used a pair of Glass Mary Jane Slippers---but then again, her prince might have never found her.

Well, I've found my Prince Charming (so I don't have to worry about leaving a shoe or two behind) and now, I've found my next NEW pair of Mary Janes!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the ones above.  My favorite part is the Ribbon latch!

OH NO!  They aren't on the Tory Burch website---can anyone help me figure out where they are from?!!!!  I must add these to my collection!

      UPDATE:
Thank you Anonymous commenter for the lead.  (Next time, leave your name so I can give you full credit!) You can currently pre-order these in Navy from Saks

Perhaps they will debut the Camel color ones a little closer to Spring?  I can only dream.

Husband, since my birthday is in April and since you got me Tory Burch wedges last year, I think we should continue with this tradition.  I'll keep an eye out for these puppies in Camel, and I'll kindly post a link for you to follow to order them for me (in size 8).

      (s)TORY time

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tory Burch.  Who doesn't?!  Since she arrived on the fashion scene, I think she's won over several of us girls!  Well, just as I was sitting here really focusing on work, I noticed a new email pop into my Inbox.  So, I clicked it open and this is what I found:

Wow!  How did Tory Burch know that I WAS LOOKING FOR THESE?  Well, not these exactly, but I've been on the hunt for a good pair of flats for my upcoming trip to Italy.  Thanks to this glorious email, I will look NO FURTHER.  But now I have a dilemma--actually 2 dilemmas....

Which pair, and how will I explain to my sweet, supportive, darling of a husband that I ABSOLUTELY need these???  I'm taking suggestions!

      Italia, Here I Come.....in Style

So, now that I've shared with you where I'll be going on our Family Vacation here, here, here, here and here, I need to start thinking about my wardrobe!  Obviously, I can't go to Italia looking frumpy and I most certainly can't wear tennis shoes while getting lost in the cities!  (Sneakers SCREAM American Tourist.)  I need to blend in as best as possible....and stand out all at the same time!  Let's face it, I've got some tough competition over there, so I've turned to Pinterest to help me find looks for the trip!

I already have 75% of the items needed to pull off this outfit!  I plan on taking my black riding boots because they will keep me warm and are super comfortable.  And, I recently bought this great Theory Blazer which I can pair with skinny jeans or leggings to easily take me from day to night!

(Confession, I originally bought it at Neiman Marcus for full price, and as soon as I got back to my desk, I searched for it online to see if I could get it cheaper.  Amazingly, Nordstrom had it 40% off!  Being the loyal Nordstrom shopper that I am, I ordered it from them and am taking back the one I originally bought from Neimans.)

Of course, I must have something Leopard print to wear while in Italia!  I know it will be much too chilly to wear this great dress with these amazing loafers, but a girl can dream right?!!

Once again, I could totally pull this look off with my riding boots and leggings or stockings.  Now....all I need is that dress!  This look could take me from shopping wandering the streets of Firenze (Florence) to a wonderful al fresco dinner on the Square!  Yes, I must do this outfit!

And I definitely need to rock this on the plane ride over to Italia!  Comfy and chic all at the same time!  And, I ALWAYS recommend flying with a scarf!  You can use it as a makeshift blanket if you get cold!

Finally, this outfit is amazingly simple!  Boots?  Check!  Leggings?  Check!  Tortoise Shell Watch?  Check.  Denim shirt----hello shopping trip to J Crew!

Overall, I think I can keep my packing light if I stick to outfits that require my riding boots and leggings!  I can re-wear the my new blazer and just change it up by belting it or adding a scarf!

      What do you think???

Call to the Wild: J.Crew Style

It's no secret that I love me some leopard print.  I throw it into my wardrobe randomly and when you'd least expect it.  (I have a pair of leopard print high heels I'll pair with my black suit--adds just the right amount of pop.)  My #1 rule when wearing it: a little goes a long way.

Imagine my excitement when I got the latest J.Crew email on the latest and greatest items for fall!  Here's a preview dear friends--maybe I'll see you there on my lunch break scooping up these glorious finds!

      Left to right:
Leopard calf hair jacket: Sorry ladies, this $1,500 jacket was super popular and is sold out.
Edie Purse: loving it!  A girl can never have too many purses.
Ballet Flats: every girl should have a great pair of flats...or a few great pair of flats
Skinny Belt: would add the perfect pop when belting a cardigan...love love love

What to Wear: Pool Party - Vegas Style

This weekend, my husband's best guy friends (since high school) are throwing a lavish pool party at one of their parent's homes in Houston.  The theme?  Vegas Party Gods.  We keep getting facebook updates about the party that are constantly making me laugh out loud.  With around 75 - 100 people expected to attend, informational messages are a must!  Here are some of the memos sent out by the event hosts:

"Pick out your favorite Vegas Costume: wigs, glue-on chest hair, gold chains, Gucci sunglasses"
"Also: Fedoras, tattoos, high heels (obviously), smooth bass line techno"

A lot of prep work has already gone into making this very "Vegas" like.  An email from one of the guys' moms (whose house it's at) was sent out a few weeks ago:

"Honey, I have ordered paper lanterns and have someone working on stands to hold them.  He is also working on an arch for picture taking.  I ordered some personalized items such as napkins."

Wait, the party gets even better.  There will be a DJ- DJ Boss Krab (if you'd like to hire him, contact me and I'll manage the process), bartenders / cabana boys, and an Elvis apperance.  This is supposed to be Vegas after all.

My husband asked me to get his Vegas Party Gods outfit together for him, so I thought I'd put together an Idea Board of HOT, MUST HAVE items when attending a Vegas Pool Party.

      Clockwise from Top:
Summer Fedora: to hide balding spots,
Tattoo on peck: I like the one pictured of a gun and "Hustler"--very Vegas,
Limited edition 18k Gold Plated Ray Ban Aviator Sunglasses: a MUST
Havianas: sporting some kind of team you "claim" to cheer for,
Ed Hardy Board Shorts : these are very Vegas with the deck of cards and say "Love is a Game".

Now that you've got the perfect outfit, double down and get your Bottle Service on.
